Strouhal Number Effects on Dynamic Boundary Layer Evolution Over a Wedge Surface from Initial Flow to Steady Flow: Analytical Approach

Abstract The present work studies the effects of physical parameter characterizing laminar flow regime, namely Strouhal number, on evolution unsteady dynamic boundary-layer developed along a wedge surface. Similarity method is used to transform momentum equation dimensionless form. Using superposition between diffusion and convective flows solutions, an ad hoc velocity profile formula proposed. obtained results confirm perfectly numerical data given by Blasius, Falkner-Skan Williams-Rhyne for all numbers. A new accurate analytical function local skin friction established time values different surface directions. In order give further clarification evolutions from flow, in whole space domain, coefficient curves are plotted numbers
